Action Plan 2018 - 2020

 

Objective 1: Strategic Partnership - Establishment and development of productive and fruitful long-term cooperation that continues after project completion

Actions taken:

  • Action 1.1: SWOT analysis [WP2, D2.3]
  • Action 1.2: Strategy for stepping up and stimulating scientific excellence and innovation capacity in the Big Data and Analytics domain; [WP2, D2.4]; [WP6, D6.2];
Objective 2: Boosting scientific excellence of the coordinating partner and linked institutions and capacity building of the widening country and the region in Big Data Analytics and semantic

Actions taken:

  • Action 2.1: enhancing possibilities for organizational learning and sustainable capacity building [WP3, D3.1]; sharing materials and open source tools including Direct exchange of information and experience between researchers and the users of their research results;
  • Action 2.2: organizing staff exchange, short-term visits and other knowledge transfer activities [WP4];
  • Action 2.3: Establishment and organization of the Big Data Analytics Summer School in Belgrade, thus strengthening the training capacity of selected institutions from West Balkan countries [WP3];
Objective 3: Spreading excellence and disseminating knowledge throughout the West Balkan and South-East European countries

Actions taken:

  • Action 3.1: Organization of International Research-Industry Forums [WP5]; Use the available infrastructure of the PUPIN TTO facilities to organize free events aimed at knowledge transfer, community building, recruiting new talented employees, strengthening links to industry / other TTO offices and ICT clusters, the cooperation agreement with Science Technology Park Belgrade (associated partner, http://www.ntpark.rs/), the long term collaboration between PUPIN and the Serbian government organizations (eGovernment Directorate as associated partner) and state-owned companies in different sectors (e.g. energy, traffic control, http://www.pupin.rs/en/references/);
  • Action 3.2: improving the networking channels of the coordinating institution and other stakeholders from the West Balkan Region by inviting experts in standardization bodies or Working groups relevant for the domain (see Stakeholders database);
Objective 4: Sustainability of research related to key societal challenges (sustainable transport, sustainable energy, security, societal wellbeing) and financial autonomy in the long run

Actions taken:

  • Action 4.1: Design and adopt innovations (existing open-source tools) in PUPIN, Fraunhofer and UOXF solutions [WP4]; Supporting adoption of innovative products on the South-East European market;
  • Action 4.2: Strengthening the linkages with industry and developing commercial awareness in order to (1) create test-beds for examining the applicability of delivered tools and technologies in practice, (2) facilitate the early involvement of researchers in the process of identifying real-world challenges, (3) discuss the competitive advantages of the Big Data technology; Invitation letters has been sent to key Big Data Analytics software providers including SAS, IBM, Oracle and Cisco [WP5, D5.1, D5.2];
  • Action 4.3: Building capacity for strategic research planning and management, and own IPR protection [WP5, WP6];
