The 2015 QS World University Subject Rankings places Oxford to the third place in the world for Computer Science (after MIT & Stanford) and the first place in Europe. The University was rated 5 QS stars, achieving top marks in research, teaching and innovation.
The Department of Computer Science, University of Oxford has one of the longest-established Computer Science departments in the country. Formerly known as the Oxford University Computing Laboratory, it is home to a community of world-class research and teaching. Current research in the Oxford Database Group, which is involved in this project, seeks to enable systematic, efficient and effective use of data in domains that manifest several or all of the five V's (volume, velocity, variety, veracity and value).
